When I first came in, I could not turn my head very far to look over my shoulder to drive. After 2 treatments I’m greatly improved. My shoulders, jaw, and neck were so tight I was in pain all the time. After 2 treatments, I am greatly improved. – Dorothy J.
Fischer Physical Therapy has helped me understand my knee pain and has not only given me relief but has given me hope that I will be a fully healed, pain free, active person again. You don’t have to suffer with pain. You have options but your have to take the first step. I only wish I had started my therapy earlier! – Whitney D.
I had been having pain in my neck and shoulders for several years that was getting worse over the past year. After my 1st treatment, I felt so much better; it was like a ton of bricks had been lifted off my shoulders. I have more energy and my whole outlook on life is improved. I am very grateful that I do not have to live in pain anymore. – Jennifer F.
Matthew’s knowledge and skills at how the body works helped me learn to walk again.
5 years after hip surgery, my back would go out when I barely walked ½ mile. Now I can walk 2+ miles easily after working with Matthew and using the technology that he had made available to me. – Dr. Bruce S.
Bobbie is awesome!!
I have been a patient of Fischer Physical Therapy since October 2007 due to a shoulder injury and subsequent surgery. My wife told me Bobbie was a miracle worker, but I didn’t believe anyone could help me with the pain I was having. I’m so glad she proved me wrong! Bobbi was able to help me deal with the pain so I could continue to work nearly 8 weeks until I was scheduled for surgery. As I continue to heal, Bobbie has not only helped me regain flexibility and strength in my shoulder. Her techniques, exercises, and suggestions have helped me tremendously with the pain. They are continually researching new techniques and ways to help their patients. The staff is friendly, personable, and most of all caring. Best of all – when I go in, I’m in pain. When I leave the pain is gone. – D. Biltoft
After seeing six Medical Professionals due to a low back injury –with no results, I was referred to Dr. Matthew Fischer by a friend. When I started seeing Dr. Fischer, I was having severe low back and neck pain, taking 1200-1600 mg of Ibuprophene to get through a day, sleeping 4-5 hours a night – exhausted and very frustrated! I couldn’t bend over to pick up a pair of socks! My first visit to Dr. Fischer, he told me that within four visits I should see dramatic improvements. Within two visits, I experienced major differences and within four visits, I was doing things I hadn’t done in months – with NO pain meds! With exercise and PRRT treatments with Dr. Fischer, I was sleeping 8 hours again and I starting to enjoy my life AGAIN! I would recommend Dr. Fischer to anyone in need of Physical Therapy.
The whole staff at Fischer Physical Therapy is truly professional, you are very caring and compassionate.
Thanks to all of you!
– Minda B.
I would lie in bed and cry sometimes because I hurt so badly and I didn’t have enough energy to get up. My doctors had me on mega doses of narcotics to help ease the pain. One day, I decided that I was tired of taking pills and made a commitment to get control of my life. That’s when I met Matthew Fischer. The first day, he told me that he could help me in four sessions. In two short weeks, my life shifted from a life of constant pain, to a pain-free life of energy and harmony. I never dreamt that I would feel this good again. I thank God for Matthew Fischer and PRRT therapy. – Jill G.
I began treatment with him for a neck that was out of place causing me headaches and dizziness. His treatment relieved my headaches and dizziness. I feel so much better. I have gone to other therapists in the past but Mr. Fischer’s techniques are effective yet gentle. I have already recommended Matt Fischer to other people who are in need of physical therapy because he is gently and he treats you with kindness and compassion. He addresses your physical issues effectively and gets to the root of the problem. Thank you Matt Fischer and your kind staff for helping me on the road to my recovery and helping me maintain a healthier lifestyle. – Connie B.

After being in a car accident, my dad, a Helena area doctor, referred me to Dr. Fischer. Through the therapy I received, I not only fully recovered from my accident but I also feel better than I did prior to the accident. Dr. Fischer’s technique was excellent and I would recommend him to any one of my friends. – Elizabeth S.
I wish to comment the work and talent of Bobbie Rasmann, MSPT. She is well educated, well trained, and experienced in anatomy and the muscle system. Her hands-on methods of treatment by relieving the knotted muscles and the tense and painful locations with which I suffer are very impressive. Bobbie can always provide relief from pain and discomfort. Many times improvement starts with the very first treatment, and certainly by the end of the 2nd-3rd session, I am free from pain. She does not dismiss the patient until the problems are corrected and the patient is comfortable. She also patiently and carefully answers the concerned questions of her patients with knowledge and experience. Her qualifications and ability are unsurpassed and with pleasure, I heartily recommend her very effective and successful methods of treatment. – Dona B
I had suffered with “tennis elbow” for over 1½ years. Nothing seemed to help. I couldn’t make a bicep muscle-I was losing feeling in my hand-even light things held in my hand would slip out and fall to the ground. I was told surgery was about the only option I had left to me. I didn’t want to be cut on, so I thought I’ll give Matt Fischer’s therapy a try. In 1 session-my pain went away and my elbow is 100% fixed!!
Thank you again Matt for what I still consider to be a miracle performed on my arm.– Lou K
I recently had a follow-up visit with the orthopedic surgeon who replaced my left knee six weeks ago. I’ve been doing physical therapy with Bobbie for the last four weeks, and the surgeon remarked as to how well my recovery was proceeding, and that I and the therapist were doing a wonderful job! I’m 67 years old, and most people are amazed at the level of movement that I have achieved in such a short time. I also worked with Bobbie for several weeks before the surgery, which seems to have been a significant positive factor in my overall conditioning and recovery. All of her balancing exercises, including the MBT Footwear, and stretching helped restore my body to levels of many years previous. As my need for physical therapy winds down, I’ve a wee touch of melancholy that my visits with the “Dragon Lady” are coming to an end. If and when the other knee needs replacement (or any other similar ailment), I will surely seek help from Bobbie at Fischer Physical Therapy! – David S.
I came to receive treatment from Matthew Fischer with back and neck pain. The pain was so pervasive, I was sleeping less than 4 hours a night. I was facing the options of taking IV medications that are dangerous and very expensive.
After 2 visits, I was sleeping 8 hours a night and the quality of my life improved dramatically. PRRT was very effective for me. I no longer take painkillers and my arthritis is very manageable with the exercises Matthew gave me. – Richard S.
I had been in pain for 13 years when I went back to the doctor. I hadn’t had a full night sleep or went one day without pain. The doctor suggested I try physical therapy one more time. I was very skeptical because I had been to four other therapists with no results. I started seeing Matthew in May on 2006 and it is July 11, 2006, and I have no pain. I can raise my arm; I don’t have to take 3 Aleve a night so I can get a couple of hours of sleep. These are little things to some people but for me not to be in pain 24 hours a day and 7days a week is the most wonderful thing that could happen. All I can say is thank God for Matthew. Thank you Matthew for doing what you do best making pain go away. – Kathy C.
After going to a doctor with complaints of pain down my right arm, it was discovered that I had 2 herniated discs (C5, C6). I was then sent to a pain clinic where I had an MRI, and the doctor felt surgery was necessary. I had a 2nd opinion with a neurologist who recommended a steroid injection and physical therapy.
After approx. 8 weeks of physical therapy with Matthew, I was pain-free and continue to be pain-free 6 months later.
Matthew was great about demonstrating and diagramming the exercises for me to take home. I would recommend Matthew to anyone. – June D.
The results I have received from Matt’s physical therapy treatment have been fantastic. I have gotten very quick results with some very painful situations. I could barely walk because of a very sore, swollen Achilles tendon. In one session, he relieved most of the pain and in the second session, he completed the treatment. I have not had any trouble with it since. That was over 2 months years ago.
More recently, he was able to loosen up a very restricted, hurting shoulder. I have most of my movement back in my shoulder now and it doesn’t hurt anymore after 2 sessions.
I am now receiving treatment on my knees, from Bobbie, who is another physical therapist at Fischer Physical Therapy. They have been bothering me for over 20 years. In only a couple of sessions, I am already seeing amazing results. – Les C.
I came to Fischer Physical Therapy barely able to walk or sit from a lower back injury. I had seen 3 specialists, had X-Rays and an MRI to try to determine what was causing the constant, excruciating pain in my lower back. Matt Fischer reviewed the information I provided him, examined me and proceeded to treat my lower back. My testimonial is that when I lay down on the table my back was screaming at me, as it had for over 6 months. When I got up from the table, the pain was gone. Matt explained what had occurred to my tailbone that had made me so miserable. He also gave me exercises to do to maintain better back health and strength. Matt’s healing ways put me back on track to pursue the things I love. As a result I was able to go fishing for King Salmon and land the big ones.
I am very grateful to Matt and the other great people at Fischer Physical Therapy. They not only helped me to heal, but they helped me regain quality of life. – Kathy M.
How do you begin to thank someone that has made such a huge change physically in your life? I have been working with Bobbie Rasmann since I injured my knee and eventually had to have surgery. I am almost ready to be discharged from therapy.
I have been used to the “no pain, no gain” mentality in the past and that never seemed to work well. It always took much longer to heal and was always in pain until healed.
Bobbies approach has been to go forward but not endure too much pain as that just brings you back to square one. Since working with her and her positive personality, I have continued to gain strength in my knee and have not had to be in constant pain. Granted we have had a few setbacks but her approach and commitment to me have been outstanding. I have referred her to other friends in hopes they also will attain good health.
The philosophy at Fischer Physical Therapy is a positive pro-active approach going forward with your therapy needs. This is a great philosophy and the techniques that I have been taught will carry on into my whole life.
I appreciate and respect Bobbie tremendously. The entire staff at Fischer Physical Therapy is so welcoming that you actually feel like you have become a part of one happy family. They are all caring, giving special folks. I would recommend their services to anyone. -Wanda R.
As I walked into the office of Matthew Fischer, I was only aware of one thing and that I was in great pain and had been for months.
I had experienced 4 riding accidents and my neck would not turn without great pain, nerve damage to my hind quarters, lower back and elbow pain. I had suffered through a broken collarbone and a lot of nerve and hip damage so my expectations were quite low of ever really healing. I had thought these will just be stories to share with my riding companions in the arena.
I had been going to a massage therapist for about 3 months and found no long-term relief. The gal, after 3 months, then recommended a physical therapist who she knew. I had only heard about physical therapy and knew I was going to be stretching and rolling on a ball, and be sent home with exercises to do every day on my own but knew I had to try anything if I were to get any good night sleep or have any acceptable quality of life. I am only 56 years old and very active and refused to quit outdoor activities due to feeling 70 years old.
BUT, from the moment I stepped into his room, he was not going to be your every day physical therapist. He said, “This is what I love to see”, I was very apprehensive.
After 2 sessions, my neck turned without ANY pain. After 4 sessions, my lower back was feeling 90% better and by the end of 5 sessions, I had 100% use of my body without pain or use of pain drugs. This man gave me my pain free life back like I never expected. I feel like I can’t stop pontificating on Matthew Fischer’s techniques and sharing with anyone if anyone tells you “You just have to live with your pain”, see Matthew Fischer. – Karla F.
At 50 years old, I had never experienced chronic pain before November 17, 2004. on that day, I fell from my horse on the point of my elbow on a hard dirt road. For 6 days, I waited while the hardware” that was ordered to piece my loft lower arm and elbow back together arrived and the pieces of broken bones could be mended. After four hours of surgery, I had a new elbow from an implant made of Titanium and a Titanium plate with 9 screws holding the other pieces of bone together in my lower arm. Two weeks after surgery, I had to begin physical therapy, I attended physical therapy 3 times a week for the next 4 months and 4 times a day I had exercises I had to do at home and work that required the use of all types of mechanical devices that took 3 hours per day to do and I had to sleep with an extension brace that kept my arm forced open all night long.
I understand chronic pain and acute pain now. But as I cried while in physical therapy and while my husband forced my arm open and closed 4 times a day at home, I kept thinking this is what I need to do to heal. I was taking Ibuprofen 800mg 3 to 4 times a day as well as Percocet every 3 hours during those 4 months. But I believed that after I finished with the physical therapy the pain would be gone. I was wrong. One year after completing the physical therapy, I still had constant pain requiring Ibuprofen 600mg 3 to 4 times a day and Percocet 2-3 times a day. I revisited my surgeon several times and he took more x-rays and nuclear tests and sought the opinions from his partners and experts in Washington. He could not stop the pain but was happy to give me another prescription for pain medication. I was discouraged.
When my arm hung at my side too long it became swollen and numb. My husband noticed I was using my arm less every week and he began to be concerned. I called my doctor again, desperate, telling him I felt like my arm was no longer functioning with the rest of my body, it seemed foreign and lifeless. He had no answers. In a final effort to ease the pain, I was referred to a specialist in Great Falls who injected cortisone into my elbow and gave me an order for additional physical therapy.
Three weeks after the cortisone injection, the pain was still the same. My appointment for physical therapy was the next day. I had decided to try a different physical
therapist this time, one close to my office, Matthew Fischer. I had no idea how fortunate it was that his office was located so close to mine for that was the deciding factor on who would be doing this round of physical therapy. I walked in with an order for several weeks of routine physical therapy and instead I was introduced to Primal Reflex Release Technique. At first I have to admit I wondered what I had stumbled into. I left my first appointment in wonder but mostly pain free so I set aside my doubts and made certain I returned for my next treatment.
After my second appointment, I was totally pain free. My arm felt integrated and part of my body again, it no longer felt like a useless shriveling appendage as it had been for over a year. I could sleep pain free, my fingers weren’t numb, I could work all day without pain and I didn’t have to wear the support sleeve I had been dependent on for a year! I was able to stop all the Ibuprofen and Percocet I had been taking completely that day. I was amazed and told Matthew at my next appointment that I could not believe how my arm felt part of my body again, it felt normal and pain free. I returned for a 4th appointment and my treatment was completed. I held my breath each day wondering if it could last, would I remain pain free. I am still pain free, 4 months later. – Debbie D.
